Calling all writers and poets and supporters of Sligo Rape Crisis Centre
We welcome poems, personal stories, or short stories around the themes of ‘recovery, hope and healing’. Please email any contributions to info@srcc.ie.
Guidelines: Contributions can be in your own name, a pseudonym or anonymous. Please send your work, in a word document, with contact details, to info@srcc.ie with ’25 years’ in the subject line. Be in with the chance to get your original, previously unpublished work out there in print. We also welcome messages of support, or words of experience about working with the centre in any capacity. Further submission guidelines below.
Sligo Rape Crisis Centre 25 years celebration
2022 marks the celebration of the 25th Anniversary of SRCC. For 25 years we have provided prevention and treatment services around the problem of sexual violence in our community. The Centre has provided a sanctuary for those affected by sexual violence. We have seen public attitudes towards change only slightly in 25 years, a lot more work is needed to address the cause and effect of the persistent problem of sexual violence. Over the years our centre has helped thousands of individuals. It is now expanding its services to meet a rising need. To do this we need your help.
Share in the celebration
To mark this important milestone, we are planning some events, and online content to celebrate 25 years of SRCC. We are calling on friends and supporters to share in the anniversary celebrations with us at SRCC. This may be in the form of a poem, a photograph of a person or place you have found inspiring, or a short smartphone video wishing SRCC a Happy Birthday.
We would like to thank all those who have already sent in their wonderful contributions which we will gather together and put on our website. Additionally, if you have any photos from past SRCC events that you would like to share, we’d appreciate adding them in. Please send all contributions in confidence to info@srcc.ie.
